Realising a shared vision with Saint Francis University
Healthy Kids Hong Kong and Saint Francis University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that establishes a framework for whole-person education, workplace experience and social innovation.
Representatives and supporters gathered for the Healthy Kids Hong Kong and Saint Francis University MoU signing ceremony.
A Shared Educational Vision
Liberal arts learning grounded in values and purpose
Father Deignan believed that education should develop the whole person through moral values, creativity and independent thinking. The collaboration carries that vision forward by connecting academic learning with practical experience, service and leadership.
It aims to open wider pathways for motivated students—including young people from grassroots backgrounds—to build confidence, discover their strengths and contribute meaningfully to society.
Two Complementary Directions
Connecting real-world learning with social empowerment
The collaboration is broader than one programme. It brings together workplace preparation and social incubation as complementary routes for student growth.
01
Workplace Experience / Job Shadowing
The partnership aims to strengthen future pathways for engaged learning, workplace shadowing and internships. Students can gain a clearer view of professional environments while developing communication, confidence and career awareness.
02
Social Incubation / Social Empowerment
The partnership also supports social innovation, student entrepreneurship and upward mobility. Motivated students can explore how ideas, technology and enterprise may respond to real community needs.
The MoU Framework
What the collaboration aims to enable
The Memorandum of Understanding provides a foundation for both organisations to develop practical opportunities responsibly over time.

02
Research and social innovation
Opportunities to study community challenges, test ideas and develop solutions with meaningful social value.
03
AI-enabled social solutions
Responsible use of AI and emerging technology to support research, creative problem-solving and community-focused innovation.
04
Scholarships and personal development
Future pathways intended to reduce barriers while supporting character, confidence and whole-person growth.
Ceremony and Leadership
A milestone supported by educators and community leaders
The signing ceremony brought together university representatives, community leaders, alumni and supporters who share a commitment to educational opportunity. Professor Tso Wung-wai was among the distinguished community leaders supporting the occasion.
The gathering also reflected intergenerational connections among alumni of Wah Yan College Kowloon and a shared desire to help younger people flourish.
Ceremony guests gathered around a tribute to Father Deignan's educational legacy.
Mentorship and Paying It Forward
Passing opportunity from one generation to the next
The initiative reflects the generous support of Dr. Spencer and Dr. Vanessa. Their commitment honours the mentorship they received from respected medical specialists Dr. Liu Chi-leung and Dr. Eric Li Ting-ho.
By paying mentorship forward, supporters help create a continuing cycle of guidance, care and opportunity for the next generation.
Our Shared Commitment
Knowledge takes root where opportunity begins.
Healthy Kids Hong Kong and Saint Francis University aim to widen educational access and nurture future leaders who bring competence, compassion, conscience and commitment to their communities.
